Roger Calmel (13/05/1921 - 03/07/1998), a French composer, from Beziers. He studied with the famous composers Olivier Messiaen and Darius Milhaud. In his choral works he uses a clear style, based on atonality, with much attention to polyphony.
Requiem
A requiem for choir and orchestra.
Requiem (1980) for 4 voices mixed (SATB), 2 soloists (soprano, basse) and orchestra, percussion. It contains:
- Requiem - Dies irae - Offertoire - Sanctus - Agnus Dei - Libera me - In paradisum
Requiem
This requiem is a work for mixed choir, baritone solo, organ and orchestrates. In this requiem the choral role always dominates, sometimes in a dense but tonal polyphonie, sometimes in unisono or just two voices.
