Matthias Sisismund [Sigmund] Biechteler von Greiffenthal (c.1668 - 27/08/1743), an Austrian composer (from Leibnitz). He spent most of his career in Salzburg, as “Hofmusiker” (1687), “Vizekapellmeister” (1703) and “Kapellmeister”(1706) to the Archbishop of Salzburg Johann Ernst von Thun. He wrote numerous masses, motets, psalms, church sonatas, music for schoolplays and four requiem masses.
