Dr. Henry George Ganss (22/02/1855 - 25/12/1912), an American clergyman, composer and author (born in Darmstadt, Germany, emigrated to the United States of America six week after his birth). This American priest, writer and composer wrote articles for the 1913 Catholic Encyclopedia.
Henry George Ganss was a Catholic priest and the founder of the Marquette League (1904–91), an organization that worked with the Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions in the Church's missions among the American Indians, and was a fund raiser for the missionary efforts.
