Hansruedi Willisegger (22/04/1935), a Swiss composer. He was born in Ettiswil, Lucerne. He received his diploma as a primary school teacher followed by musical studies in Lucerne, Zurich and Basel. He received his diploma for directing and organ (J.B. Hilber, Josef Bucher, Rudolf Sidler), school music, teacher, concert diploma (Hubert Harry), and theory (Robert Blum). He was tutored in composition by Albert Jenny, Robert Blum, Klaus Huber, Witolt Lutoslawski and Pierre Boulez and attended courses in improvisation, dance, pantomime, and music didactics. From 1964 until 1995 he was a seminar teacher in Hitzkirch. From 1964 until 1999 he was piano teacher at the Lucerne conservatory and teacher for dance education and improvisation at the 'Akademie für Schul- und Kirchenmusik' (Acadamie for School and Church Music, Lucerne). He was the founder and conductor of the 'Luzerner Singer' and the Emmenbrücke Mixed Choir, and a co-founder, vice-president and president of the Swiss federation ‘Europa Cantat’ (SFEC). He was also the founder and director of the Easter course for dance education and performing arts in Lucerne and vice-president and president of the 'Schweizerischen Musikpädagogischen Verbandes' (Swiss Association for Musical Education) region Lucerne. He is president of the 'Schweizerischen Vereinigung der Musiklehrer an Mittelschulen' (Swiss Association of School Teachers and Middle Schools) and a member of various national and international chorus associations. He is co-author of various music-educational publications. He performs nationally and internationally in concerts as conductor, pianist and organist and won both national and international awards with the 'Luzerner Singer' with prizes for vocals, instrumentals and compositions. In 1997 he won a recognition award and received the art prize of the city of Lucerne in 1989.
