Juan de Peñalosa (c.1515 - 1579), a Spanish composer. He wrote, according to Propyläen, Welt Der Musik, Die Komponisten one requiem mass and eight motets, which were wrongly attributed to the more famous Spanish
composer Francisco de Peñalosa (c.1470 - 1528).

Period: | High Renaissance |
Musical form: | mass |

The cathedral archives at Granada contain a Missa pro defunctis by "Peñalosa"; this is probably Juan and not the more famous Spanish composer Francisco de Peñalosa (c.1470 - 1528).
