Bernhard E. Scholz (30/03/1835 - 26/12/1916), a German conductor, pianist, theorist and composer; born in Mainz, died in Munich. He was a pupil of Pauer and Dehn, became in 1883 pricipal of the Hochsconservatorium in Franfurt am Main. He wrote nine opera's, orchestral works, chamber music, songs, pianoworks and some music for chorus, at least one requiem. He was a friend of Johannes Brahms and Clara Schumann - Wieck.
