Johann Valentin [Valentin] Rathgeber (03/04/1682 - 02/06/1750), a German composer (from Ober-Elsbach) and since 1711 Benedictine. Since 1721 he published a lot of church music. Rathgeber wrote from 1721 till 1743 a lot of church music: 164 offertories, 44 Mary antiphons, 43 masses, 36 hymns, 16 arias, 14 vespers, 13 litanies, 12 requiems, 6 Miserere, 6 Tantum ergo, 3 Tenebrae, 2 Te Deum.
