This requiem, Op.233, for solo voices (SATB), chorus (SATB), and orchestra; the acc. arr. for piano. His published works total 548 (not including the numerous soundtracks and incidental music) in addition to his enormous output as a pianist and conductor. Many of Franco Mannino's recordings have received international acclaim.
Evgeny Mravinsky, arguably the greatest Russian conductor of all time, after hearing the Missa pro defunctis which Mannino had dedicated to his dear friend Leonid Kogan (1924 - 1982), the famous violinist, wrote the following dedication to Mannino on one of his photographs: with veneration and admiration! Mravinsky invited maestro Mannino to the anniversary celebrations of his own orchestra; Mannino reciprocrated by composing his Symphony 4°, op.225, for the occasion. Tass, reporting the event, wrote "Franco Mannino has given concerts the like of which have never been heard before in the sixty-year history of the Leningrad Philharmonic".
