Pawel Lukaszewski (19/09/1968), a Polish composer (from Czestochowa) of mostly choral and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe and elsewhere. He studied at the High School of Music in Czestochowa from 1981-87, where he graduated with a cello diploma with distinction. From 1987-92, he studied cello with Andrzej Wróbel at the Frédéric Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and from 1991-95, he studied composition with Marian Borkowski at the same school, where he earned his MMus in both areas. In 1994-95, he had post-graduate studies in choral conducting with Ryszard Zimak at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. In addition, he attended masterclasses with Barbara Marcinkowska in 1986, Harald Ossberger in 1989 and Boguslaw Schäffer in 1993. He earned his DMus in 2000 at the Frédéric Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.

A wonderful, mysterious, original work, superb composed and full of surprising ideas. It is a great oratorium for soloists, choir, orchestra and two organs. It connects contemporary technics with traditional choralstructures.
