Emile-Jean-Joseph [Emile] Dethier (27/11/1849 - 21/11/1933), a Belgian organist and composer. Born in Liège. Teacher at the Conservatoire de Liège, Maître de Chapelle at the Grand Séminaire de Liège.
Composed some organ music and secular works, but best known as composer and editor of vocal church music in the style of the Cecilian movement.
Father of Gaston Marie Dethier and Edouard Dethier.
