Arthur Wilford (08/03/1851 - 22/11/1926), a Belgian composer; born in Temse, died in Sint-Joost-ten-Node, Belgium. He studied in Leipzig with Ernst Richter (harmony and contrapunt) and Carl Reinecke (composition and piano).
The text of the Vlaamsch Requiem was written by Cyriel Verschaeve (30/04/1874 08 /11/1949), a noted Flemish-nationalist priest and writer who collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War.
