Flávio Gontijo (03/07/1948 - 2012), a Brazilian composer; born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is a former music professor of the Federal University. Since his youth he has been a concert violinist, chamber musician and composer, especially of choral and orchestral works. He is well-known in Brazil as a teacher, director, violinist, violist and composer. Since 1973 a number of his choral works have been performed abroad. I have belonged to the Brazilian Society of Contemporary Music since 1976, and his name is included in the Encyclopedia Britannica's Who's Who in Music.
