Orazio Mei (26/05/1731 - 01/03/1788), an Italian composer, born in Pisa, died in Livorno. He became organist at Pisa Cathedral in 1759 and maestro di cappella at Livorno Cathedral in 1763; he wrote chiefly sacred music, including a Stabat mater of much expressive intensity generated by skilful use of chromaticism.
